Mid-Day Supervisory Assistant (MDSA)

Grade 1 – pt 2, Part Time, Term Time Only (38 weeks per year)

5 hours per week - 12pm-1pm Monday-Friday

Start Date – January 2026

End Date - 31st August 2026

Grange Community Primary School, Felixstowe (an Academy within the Orwell Multi Academy Trust) wishes to appoint a Mid-Day Supervisory Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • supervising and engaging with children during the lunch break
  • supporting play and positive social interaction in the playground
  • overseeing behaviour and safety in the dining hall and outdoor areas.
You will be:
  • reliable and punctual
  • confident and calm when working with children
  • a good communicator and team player
  • willing to undertake relevant training.

EYFS Teaching Assistant

Required from January 2026

· Salary details: Grade 2 Point 2 £24,413 pro rata.

· Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 38 weeks per year (term time only)

· Contract: Fixed Term until 31st December 2026

· Closing date: 1pm Friday 21st November

· Interviews: w/b Monday 1st December

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Early Years team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in nurturing and inspiring children aged 4–5, helping them develop a lifelong love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

· Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, creative activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

· Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

· Assist with observations, assessments, and record-keeping to monitor children’s progress and development.

· Promote independence, curiosity, and confidence through high-quality play-based learning.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to meet each child’s individual needs.

· Uphold the school’s values, behaviour expectations, and safeguarding policies at all times.

About You

· A genuine passion for early years education and supporting young children’s growth and development.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· A positive team player with the ability to take initiative and adapt when needed.

· Patient, kind, and flexible approach to working with children.

· A relevant childcare qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years Education/Childcare) is desirable.

· Experience working in an EYFS setting is advantageous but not essential.
